The Learning and Academic Resources department offers Computer Proficiencies for Academic Success. These courses are designed to help the student learn computer skills necessary to effectively complete academic work using a variety of technology applications and programs.

CPAS 1 - Using the Macintosh As A Tool For Learning
This course is designed to teach students, with a minimum ability, to use computers to do useful work. Word processing, spreadsheet, data base, and graphics applications will be introduced. This course meets the LBCC computer proficiency requirement for graduation.

CPAS 10 - Advanced Computer Skills for Learning
An advanced course in which you will learn to use the computer effectively to prepare documents for any class using word processing, spreadsheets, graphics manipulation, web presentations, Internet uses and resources. Students will use the Macintosh computer; PC users are welcome. On-line sections of this course are offered. This course meets the LBCC computer proficiency requirement for graduation.
 
CPAS 10 - Companion Course
Online sections of CPAS 10 are linked to specific instructors. This course provides students with the technology skills they will need to complete their coursework. This course meets the computer proficiency requirement for graduation.
 
CPAS 805 - Preparation for Distance Learning
This 1/2 unit course provides an introduction to the skills and information necessary for success in distance learning courses. Topics include the study and time-management skills necessary for success as well as the technical skills required for distance learning courses.
 
LEARN 617- Educational Technology Skills for College
A zero-unit (0.0) computer lab course that enables students to learn more about specific computer skills for academic success and technology resources available at LBCC.
